Chocolate and Cheese Wine Tours
Multi-stop pairing tours — distinct from estate pairing pages in tastings.
Last checked: 6 October 2026
A chocolate cheese wine tour takes the Cape's favourite pairings on the road. Instead of booking one pairing at one estate, you're collected, driven between farms, and handed a cheese board at one stop, a chocolate flight at another and, on some tours, biltong at a third. This page covers those multi-stop tour packages, whether shared or private, from Cape Town or the Winelands. If you'd rather book a single pairing at an estate yourself, our tasting guides explain how pairings work and what they cost (links further down).
How we checked this
Every tour here was checked on the operator's official website on 6 October 2026. Prices are copied exactly with their year and basis, and we say whether tastings and lunch are included. Where an operator doesn't publish a price, we say so instead of guessing.

Per-person prices on a sliding scale depend on how many of you book, so a "from" figure for six guests isn't comparable with a per-person price on a shared tour. Compare like with like.

Tips for a pairing tour day
- Mention dietary needs early. Cheese boards and chocolate flights are hard to swap on the day. See wine tasting with dietary needs.
- Eat breakfast. Pairings are small bites, not a meal. See what to eat before wine tasting.
- Know what you're paying for. A pairing usually costs more than a standard tasting; see how much wine tasting costs and how to choose a wine tasting experience.
- Pace yourself. Four pairing stops is a lot of wine; see how many wineries in one day.
- Booking lunch? Ideas in /restaurants.
FAQs
What is a chocolate and cheese wine tour?
A guided day with transport where pairings are built into the itinerary, for example cheese at Fairview and chocolate at La Bri, Muratie or Waterford, rather than a single pairing you book at one estate.
How much does a chocolate and cheese wine tour cost?
Dated examples: never@home R1,690 per person (2026, lunch own account); Wine Tours Cape Town's daily tour from R2,000 per person (2026 page) with lunch; private days from R2,950 to R5,140 per person from Cape Town (2026) depending on group size. All include tastings.
Are pairings included in the price?

Can children come on a pairing tour?
Most shared tours are 18+. Wine Tours Cape Town welcomes children on its private tours with a parent or guardian. The legal drinking age in South Africa is 18. See family wine tours.
Can I bring my dog?
Tour vehicles generally don't take dogs, and these operators don't publish a dog policy. For farms that welcome dogs, see dog-friendly wine farms in the Western Cape.
