Langeberg-Garcia · Western Cape
Van Loveren Family Vineyards is a wine farm in Langeberg-Garcia, Western Cape. About 150 km from Cape Town.
Van Loveren Family Vineyards is one of the Robertson Valley’s most complete visitor farms: wine tastings and food-and-wine pairings, Christina’s Bistro, garden and cellar tours, and the Fish Eagle hiking trail. The Retief family has owned the land since 1937, when Hennie Retief snr named the farm after Christina van Loveren, an ancestor of his bride Jean van Zyl. Official branding places the Retief family at the centre of the VRL mark.
Address: R317, Robertson, 6707. Phone: +27 23 615 1505. Email: info@vanloveren.co.za. Wined GPS in seed: 33°52'31.3"S 20°00'9.1"E.
Important: the Worcester / Rhino Run tasting room and Klipheuwel Farm Stall (Klein Brak) are separate Van Loveren sites—do not mix their hours or booking forms into this Robertson farm row. Prefer vanloveren.co.za Robertson Visit / Tasting Room pages.
Trading hours (Visit Us & Tasting Room pages):
Food & wine pairings published on the Tasting Room page (confirm on the day—lists can move):
Prefer this official pairing list over older blog figures. Book tastings via the site’s tasting booking flow where offered; general enquiries info@vanloveren.co.za.
Christina’s @ Van Loveren specialises in wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, and seasonal specials, with garden pergola seating and Sunday musicians noted on official bistro copy. Bistro hours:
Functions: christinas@vanloveren.co.za (Delia or Chani on site copy). Book a table via the site or the main estate line. The bistro sits in the original manor-home setting in wine.co.za / estate framing—useful for cooler days indoors or garden shade in summer.
Giant chess and family-friendly messaging appear on Visit pages—useful for mixed groups. Alcohol-free and kids’ tasting options are part of the published pairing grid.
Official home copy frames Van Loveren as a leading family-owned South African winery known for consistency and innovation across sparkling, white, rosé and related lines (Tangled Tree, Papillon, Christina, and others in shop navigation). Community and carbon-accounting initiatives are mentioned on the homepage—do not invent medal tallies; use the shop and tasting pods for what is poured today.
Four Cousins town restaurant is a related family hospitality brand in Robertson town—not a substitute for Christina’s on the farm. Keep the R317 farm experience distinct when you write itineraries.
Van Loveren can fill a morning-to-afternoon without needing a second estate: tasting or pairing at the pods/deck, lunch at Christina’s before last orders, then garden stroll or Fish Eagle trail if energy remains. Weekday visitors can add a cellar tour with Cap Classique. Sundays start later for tasting (11:00) but bistro opens earlier (08:30)—useful for breakfast-then-tasting pacing.

A catering rate appears on older material without a clear year, so we omit any price figure here until a dated quote exists. Before you book, ask for a written summary of inclusions (tables, linen, staffing, bar and ceremony set-up), finish times, the rain plan and any compulsory suppliers. Capacities and packages change, so rely on the estate's dated quote for your guest list and season.
Price: Ask Christina's for a dated quote; no verified year-stamped public wedding rate is shown here.
