Paarl · Western Cape
Noble Hill is a wine farm in Paarl, Western Cape. About 49 km from Cape Town.
Noble Hill is an organic estate grower on the Simonsberg slopes at Simondium, roughly fifteen minutes from Franschhoek, Paarl, or Stellenbosch and about forty-five minutes from Cape Town. The official site frames the farm as a regenerative organic producer making delicate, fresh wines with mineral structure—wines meant to carry the granite character of Simonsberg soils in every glass. For Western Cape travellers who want a quieter cellar-door stop between the denser Franschhoek village strip and the Paarl–Stellenbosch corridor, Noble Hill combines published tasting flights, a local cheese board option, and Mediterranean-inspired lunch at Harvest Restaurant on the terrace overlooking the vines.
Do not confuse Noble Hill with larger Huguenot Road cellar doors or with village-only tasting rooms: this is a working estate on the Klapmuts–Simondium / Simonsberg edge of the Franschhoek Wine Valley, with limited seating that rewards booking when your party grows.
Noble Hill publishes two wine-tasting options plus a cheese accompaniment on its wine-tasting page and tasting-menu PDF:
Official policy: one tasting charge is waived for each R400 spent on wine and olive oil. Groups of eight or fewer do not need a booking for wine tasting; book if your group is more than eight, because large-group seating is very limited. View the current tasting PDF and reserve via noblehill.com/wine-tasting and noblehill.com/reserve.
Harvest at Noble Hill serves unhurried lunch on the terrace looking over the vines that grow the wine in your glass. The kitchen draws from Mediterranean food cultures—Provence markets, Marseillaise fishing ports, eastern Mediterranean olive groves—built around good olive oil, fresh herbs, and honest ingredients.
Official restaurant hours (hours & location page): Wednesday–Sunday 09:00–16:00. Breakfast 09:00–11:30; lunch from 11:30 until close; last kitchen orders 15:30; close 16:00. Book online. Because of restaurant size, tables for groups of more than four are limited, and the estate cannot accommodate lunch groups larger than eight. Check the current menu on the Harvest page before you travel.
Wine tasting (official): Wednesday–Sunday 09:00–16:00, with the last tasting beginning at 15:30. Mondays and Tuesdays open by appointment. Harvest Restaurant shares the Wednesday–Sunday 09:00–16:00 window as above.
Location messaging emphasises Simonsberg slopes, about fifteen minutes from Franschhoek / Paarl / Stellenbosch. Noble Hill appears on Franschhoek Wine Valley mapping and Wine Tram Orange routing in valley materials—useful if you are stitching Simondium stops into a tram or self-drive day, but always confirm your tram stop list for the season you travel.
A practical half-day: arrive for a mid-morning Estate or Reserve flight (and cheese board if you want a substantial snack), stay for Harvest lunch on the terrace, then shop amphora-raised Chenin, Cap Classique, and estate reds before the 16:00 close. On Mondays or Tuesdays, secure an appointment first rather than assuming walk-in tasting.
Noble Hill’s shop and labels highlight estate-grown varieties with “keys” on each label representing grape varieties on the farm. Recent tasting-menu / shop listings (confirm stock on arrival) have included Sur Lie Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Estate Reserve White (Grenache Blanc–Marsanne–Chenin–Viognier blend), Simonskop Chenin Blanc from an Old Vine Project vineyard, Brut Nature Blanc de Blancs, Mourvèdre Rosé, Field Atlas, Cabernet Sauvignon, Estate Reserve red (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot), and Simonskop Cinsault. Critic scores appear on the producer’s own tasting PDF when published—treat those as estate-presented notes, and re-check the live PDF if you are chasing a specific vintage.
Shop specials on the tasting PDF have included buy-five-get-sixth-free and small gift packs; ask staff what is current. Domestic shipping thresholds and overseas agent lists are published for collectors who prefer delivery after tasting.
Noble Hill delivers a clear, published cellar-door package: Estate tasting from R100, Reserve at R140, optional Dalewood cheese board at R220, tasting fee waived against wine and olive-oil spend at the R400 threshold, and Mediterranean terrace lunch at Harvest within the same Wednesday–Sunday day. It is organic Simonsberg farming made visitable—ideal for travellers who want mineral whites, structured reds, and a quiet terrace rather than a crowded Huguenot Road queue. Verify the live tasting PDF and Harvest menu before peak season; the flight structure is stable, but seasonal pours and kitchen dishes change.
Official noblehill.com wine tasting + tasting menu PDF: seasonal selection of four different estate wines in wine shop or on terrace under willow; staff guide winemaking process. Groups of 8 or fewer no booking required; book if more than 8. One tasting charge waived for each R400 spent on wine & olive oil.

Families can eat in the spacious outdoor picnic area at Harvest, but the restaurant says it is not specifically child-friendly.
Possible with kids. About 40 min from Cape Town.

Noble Hill is one of the closest farms in this area to Cape Town, about 40 minutes away without traffic, but parents should read the fine print. The official Harvest FAQ says the restaurant is "not specifically a child-friendly restaurant". Parties with children may not sit on the terrace unless management agrees, there are no high chairs, and every child must stay with an adult. The good news is that the same menu is served in a spacious outdoor picnic area, which suits families better. Well-behaved dogs are welcome (though not on the terrace). Harvest is open Wednesday to Sunday, 09:00–16:00. Older listings mention picnic baskets and a play area, but these are out of date and unverified. Book ahead and ask to be seated in the picnic area.
